Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Handleman (ranked 531 p4p, 83 weight class) and Lakoj Dresden (ranked 1128 p4p, 172 weight class). Handleman comes to the cage accompanied by Pride FC Theme. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kelvin Handleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lakoj Dresden!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Dresden or perhaps it was just good defense by Handleman, which made it look bad.
Dresden shoots in for a double leg but Handleman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Handleman dips to his left and cracks Dresden with an uppercut!
Handleman paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Dresden shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Handleman defends it nicely.
Kelvin Handleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lakoj Dresden.
Handleman stuffs the takedown attempt from Dresden. Dresden gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dresden fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Handleman avoids it really well and circles away.
Dresden moves in looking to clinch but Handleman pushes him off.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Handleman enables Dresden to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Handleman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Dresden is fighting to break Handleman's control of his arms but Handleman is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Dresden postures up in Handleman's guard and throws a big left but Handleman blocks it.

Dresden seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Handleman lands with an uppercut that bounces Dresden off the cage and back into range.

and Handleman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Dresden has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

and Handleman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Dresden moves into the clinch successfully.

Handleman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Handleman slaps away a takedown attempt from Dresden, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Dresden gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Handleman counters with a straight right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dresden closes the distance and clinches up with Handleman, looking for a takedown. Dresden pushes Handleman against the cage but Handleman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Handleman scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Dresden takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Handleman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dresden.
Handleman is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
We've been told by Handleman's head coaches at Guts & Glory Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Dresden closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dresden lands in his opponent's guard.
Dresden has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Handleman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Handleman stuns Dresden with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Handleman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Handleman works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Dresden with a nice cross.
Dresden's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Handleman connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dresden scrambles back to his feet.
Dresden shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Handleman as he avoids it easily.

Dresden has Handleman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Handleman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Handleman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lakoj Dresden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looked like Handleman wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Dresden doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Dresden throws a head punch that misses.
Handleman prevents a body shot from Dresden.

Handleman breaks the clinch.

Dresden tries for a takedown but Handleman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Handleman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dresden looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Handleman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dresden is breathing heavily.

Handleman swats away the attempt to clinch by Dresden.
Dresden is trying hard to land a takedown here. Handleman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kelvin Handleman is winning the standup battle so far.
Handleman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dresden doesn't seem bothered though.
Handleman scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Dresden uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Handleman.
Handleman sets himself, and Dresden steps forward looking for the clinch! Handleman avoids it this time.
Handleman lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Handleman throws a looping overhand right but Dresden ducks down to avoid it.
Handleman is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Handleman lands a big uppercut and Dresden crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Dresden looks OK. Handleman waves Dresden back to his feet!


Dresden is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A big right from Handleman misses.
Dresden is still on wobbly legs! Can Handleman finish him?
Handleman looks to throw the jab but Dresden is out of range.
Dresden throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dresden seems to have recovered his senses.

and Handleman counters with a nice right hand that sends Dresden toppling to the canvas! Dresden scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Handleman finish him?!
Kelvin Handleman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Handleman lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Dresden - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Handleman!
