Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gorgeous Bob (ranked 2035 p4p, 232 weight class) and Watari Kan (ranked 2252 p4p, 252 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bob scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kan doesn't seem bothered though.
Bob misses the body punch
and Kan counters with a left and a right that stings Bob.
Kan's corner calls for a 1-2. Kan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Bob misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kan.
Kan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bob looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kan! But no joy.
Kan staying out of range there.
Gorgeous Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Bob lands a jab.
Bob throws a series of punches but Kan moves out of range.
A countering left hand to the body from Kan misses.
Kan looks to land a left hand but Bob moved out of range nicely.

Kan closes the distance and clinches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
I was talking to Bob's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Bob has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Kan is trying to keep an underhook but Bob manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Bob lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bob connects with a nice short shot to Kan's temple.
Bob looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bob wants to work for an arm triangle but Kan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bob slips a nice elbow through Kan's hands, connecting with Kan's forehead.
Kan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bob.

Bob is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kan is just riding it out for now. Bob eventually gives up the hold.
Bob is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Bob is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bob seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Kan is rocked!

Bob looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kan is still in real trouble! Can Bob finish him?

Bob is nestled in close to Kan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bob is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Kan misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bob lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Kan quite badly. Kan pulls Bob in close trying to recover. Bob postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Kan on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Kan doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
