Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Gillespie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Braxton Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gillespie avoids it really well and circles away.
Gillespie changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Gillespie darts in and clinches Anderson up against the cage.
Gillespie gets underhooks to prevent Anderson's takedown attempt.
Gillespie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Anderson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gillespie pinned against the cage. Gillespie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jimmy Gillespie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Braxton Anderson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gillespie darts in and clinches Anderson up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gillespie lands a good knee to the midsection. Anderson won't want to take too many of those.
Anderson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Anderson pulls guard effortlessly.
Gillespie engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Anderson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Gillespie throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Anderson's body to avoid the submission. Anderson has instead reached around Gillespie's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Anderson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

A less than humble Braxton Anderson misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
