Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Laney (ranked 6388 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Pennington (ranked 7586 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Laney might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cant be touched. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sean Laney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Charles Pennington!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pennington moves into range and clinches up with Laney.

Laney gets control of Pennington's arms and successfully pulls guard. Laney will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Pennington wants to pass the guard but Laney is keeping the position.
Pennington lands a couple of elbows.
Pennington wants to control from the top but Laney keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pennington drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pennington jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Pennington has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Pennington throws a big elbow that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pennington trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pennington working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pennington distracts Laney with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Laney has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Pennington has passed into side control.
Laney is looking to reverse the position.
Laney takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Pennington has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pennington moves into the clinch successfully.

Laney gets control of Pennington's arms and successfully pulls guard. Laney will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Laney can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pennington controls the pace.
Pennington works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Pennington in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Laney tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Pennington!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Charles Pennington!
