The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt tries a head kick but it misses.

Hunt closes the distance and clinches.

Hunt has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Rodriguez regains guard immediately.
Hunt slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
It looks like Hunt might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Rodriguez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hunt is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rodriguez to the mat. Rodriguez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Rodriguez is wriggling around but Hunt manages to pass to half guard.

Rodriguez's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Let's hope that Hunt has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Rodriguez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hunt manages to avoid it.

Hunt has hold of one of Rodriguez's legs. Rodriguez is fighting the takedown attempt but Hunt gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
