Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tenshin Segawa (ranked 3850 p4p, 164 weight class) and Tim Slater (ranked 2505 p4p, 115 weight class). Segawa comes to the cage accompanied by What's Up People?. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Segawa misses.
Slater tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Segawa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Slater moves into range and clinches up with Segawa.

Slater successfully pulls guard.
Segawa stopping the sweep attempt from Slater.
Segawa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slater swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Slater controls Segawa momentarily but Segawa frees himself.

Segawa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Slater looking for a guillotine here but Segawa defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slater is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Segawa rolls with it to try and escape but Slater cranks on the arm and Segawa is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Tim Slater was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
