The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Silva lands a vicious elbow to the side of Perez's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Silva tries to finish him with strikes but Perez still seems able to defend himself so Silva steps back and lets Perez get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.
Perez has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Perez gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Silva gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Perez is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
