Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Brewer (ranked 4083 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles Erikson (ranked 5295 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jacob Brewer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Miles Erikson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brewer instigates a clinch.

Erikson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Erikson wants to clinch up but Brewer keeps it at a distance.

Brewer closes the distance and pushes Erikson back into the cage.
Brewer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Brewer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Erikson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Brewer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Erikson, pushing him back against the cage.

Erikson breaks from the clinch.
Erikson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brewer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brewer rushes Erikson and presses him up against the cage.
Brewer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacob Brewer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brewer has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Erikson after a bit of a struggle.

Erikson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Erikson jumps guard but Brewer stands there with Erikson around his waist. Erikson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Erikson wants to control from the top but Brewer keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Erikson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Erikson has closed the distance and engaged Brewer in a clinch.
Brewer is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Erikson to keep the fight standing.

Brewer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Erikson defends it well.

Brewer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brewer tries to stand and escape but Erikson is controlling the position.

Erikson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Brewer shoots for a takedown but Erikson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Brewer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Erikson can do to turn this around?

It looks like Miles Erikson has been cut.

Erikson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Brewer shoots in looking for a takedown. Erikson tries to sprawl out of it but Brewer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Erikson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Erikson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Brewer drops Erikson with a left right combo! Brewer follows him down to the ground into side control.

Brewer is looking to take a break and control but Erikson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Brewer swings around for an armbar but Erikson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Brewer's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brewer has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Erikson has passed into side control.
Brewer tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Erikson easily slips into full mount!
Brewer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Brewer tries to get out of the position.

Poor strikes thrown by Erikson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Brewer is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Brewer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Erikson unloads with some shots from mount but Brewer bucks and avoids them well.
Brewer keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Poor strikes thrown by Erikson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Erikson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brewer can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Brewer is looking to improve his position but Erikson isn't that keen on the idea.

Erikson keeps control of the position easily here as Brewer tries to buck him off.
Erikson doesn't have the hooks in and Brewer manages to turn into his guard.

A close second round but Miles Erikson will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Erikson shoots in for a takedown but Brewer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Erikson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Erikson is defended easily by Brewer.
Jacob Brewer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miles Erikson.

Erikson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Brewer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Erikson circles away.
Erikson closes the distance and clinches up with Brewer, looking for a takedown. Erikson pushes Brewer against the cage but Brewer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Brewer here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Brewer moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Erikson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Brewer pushes Erikson back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Brewer ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Brewer no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Brewer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Erikson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Brewer wants to control but Erikson postures up.

Erikson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brewer walks away with a smile on his face. Erikson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Brewer lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Erikson backs up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Brewer forces Erikson back against the cage and clinches.
Erikson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Brewer is defending well.
Brewer is trying to break the clinch but Erikson has him pressed against the cage.
Brewer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Erikson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Brewer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Erikson tries to avoid it but Brewer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Erikson to the ground. Erikson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brewer ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Brewer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Erikson defends it nicely.
Brewer sets himself, and Erikson steps forward looking for the clinch! Brewer avoids it this time.

Brewer has managed to clinch.
Brewer working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Erikson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Brewer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Erikson avoids it really well and circles away.

Brewer takes the fight into the clinch.
Brewer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Erikson smiles and moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jacob Brewer showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Brewer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
