Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Sainty (ranked 364 p4p, 44 weight class) and Kendo Hirigushi (ranked 338 p4p, 39 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Sainty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Kendo Hirigushi!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Sainty tries to clinch but Hirigushi moves out of range.
Sainty throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hirigushi checks a leg kick.
Sainty throws a chopping leg kick but Hirigushi manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Sainty connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sainty lands a glancing blow to the side of Hirigushi's head.
Sainty throws a low kick but Hirigushi moves out of range easily.

Sainty wants to clinch.
A little jabbing left from Hirigushi on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Sainty throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hirigushi's waist but Hirigushi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sainty off to one side.
Hirigushi swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sainty really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sainty thuds a left hand into Hirigushi's body.

and Hirigushi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Sainty fails in his attempt to clinch.

Sainty moves into the clinch.
Sainty can't break the clinch.
Sainty takes a shot to the head.

Hirigushi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sainty changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hirigushi tries to avoid it but Sainty manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hirigushi to the ground. Hirigushi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sainty thows a leg kick but Hirigushi checks it
and Hirigushi counters with a stiff right hand.
Sainty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hirigushi counters with a lovely straight right hand!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sainty wants to land a leg kick but Hirigushi is out of range.
Hirigushi lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Sainty looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hirigushi is fending him off so far but Sainty persists. Nope, Hirigushi circles away and we're back to standing.
Sainty scores with a punch to the head.

Sainty throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hirigushi was covering up waiting for the punch and Sainty finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hirigushi is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sainty presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kendo Hirigushi will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Sainty closes the distance and clinches up with Hirigushi, looking for a takedown. Sainty pushes Hirigushi against the cage but Hirigushi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hirigushi looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Sainty scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sainty is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Hirigushi is defending well though. Sainty let's go of the attempt for now.

Hirigushi has hold of Sainty's leg, trying to break free but it's let Sainty lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Hirigushi is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Sainty throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.
