Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Siegel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz has chosen Hate Me Now as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Siegel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Siegel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Diaz misses with a series of wild punches.
Siegel throws the kick towards the body but Diaz avoids it.

Diaz tries to keep at a distance but Siegel has taken the fight into the clinch.

Siegel turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Siegel manages to end up in side control.
Diaz is trying to improve his position.
Siegel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Siegel tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Siegel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Diaz is trying to control Siegel's posture but Siegel avoids it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Siegel throws a head kick but Diaz moves out of range.
Diaz misses with a looping left.
Siegel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Diaz shoots in but no luck this time.
Diaz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Siegel scores with a crisp jab that stopped Diaz in his tracks.
Siegel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diaz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Siegel throws a head kick that misses.
Siegel sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Diaz to the ground! Siegel dives into full mount looking to finish!

Siegel stands up from mount. Strange move.
Diaz seems to have recovered his senses.

Siegel connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Siegel but Siegel pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kenny Siegel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Diaz.

Siegel is looking to slow Diaz down with leg kicks.
Diaz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Siegel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Siegel in particular looking to stall.
Siegel seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Diaz for as long as he can get away with.
Siegel's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

You can see the frustration on Diaz's face as Siegel controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Diaz has given up his back.
Siegel controlling the position well here. Diaz rolled but Siegel kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Kenny Siegel just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Siegel seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's time! Siegel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Diaz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Diaz can't keep his opponent in guard - Siegel advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Diaz makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Diaz.
Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Siegel stands up and waves to Diaz to follow him.

Siegel is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around?

Diaz wants to get back to striking at distance but Siegel won't allow it.

Siegel is trying to trip Diaz. He has hold of a leg but Diaz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Siegel persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Siegel is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kenny Siegel is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
