PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Hogan (ranked 6874 p4p, 559 weight class) and John Jones (ranked 7061 p4p, 562 weight class). Hogan comes to the cage accompanied by My Time Is Now. John Jones will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hulk Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogan throws an off balance right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Hogan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Hogan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jones has his hands clasped together around Hogan's back. He's all about the action.
Jones manages to get to full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hogan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Jones looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hogan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hogan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.

Hogan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jones did well to prevent Hogan getting side control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hulk Hogan.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

John Jones spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Hulk Hogan was interviewed post fight and said 'My time is not yet now.'.
