Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Williamson (ranked 25315 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mud Gus (ranked 4991 p4p, 0 weight class). Mud Gus will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eduardo Williamson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mud Gus!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williamson moves away from the strike by Gus.
Gus misses with a low kick.
Gus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gus shoots for a takedown but Williamson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gus tries to land a body kick

and Williamson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Williamson.
Gus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Williamson gets to his feet - Gus follows without any prompting.
Williamson throws a leg kick but Gus sees it coming and checks it nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Williamson working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Williamson tries to land knees in the clinch but Gus avoids the damage to the body.

Williamson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gus can't fight it off and eventually Williamson manages to take the fight to the floor. Gus looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Williamson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williamson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Williamson gets to his feet. Gus looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Gus moves into range and clinches up with Williamson.
Gus can't break the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Gus fails to land.
Gus tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Williamson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gus misses with a takedown attempt - Williamson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gus looks winded!

Gus takes the fight into the clinch.

Williamson pulls guard.
Williamson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Williamson has control of Gus's left arm, preventing Gus from doing any damage.
Williamson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Williamson continues to stall.
Gus looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gus postures up in Williamson's guard and throws a big left but Williamson blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gus throws an elbow that misses. Williamson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gus's guard. Nice move by Williamson!


Williamson stands up from Gus's guard - Williamson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Gus throws a leg kick which misses Williamson's front leg but catches the back leg as Williamson tries to avoid it.
Gus throws a sloppy head kick and Williamson moves out of range easily.
Gus misses with an attempted mid kick.

Williamson darts in and clinches Gus up against the cage.
Gus tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Gus working hard to break the clinch.
Gus has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Williamson keeps control of Gus as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Williamson pushes Gus back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Williamson lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Williamson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gus clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gus showing good submission defense here.

Williamson is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Gus taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Williamson.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Eduardo Williamson!
The defeated Mud Gus had this to say: 'You wait.. If I didn't have this collar on me you best be runnin....'.
