The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bugbee fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Switcher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Switcher tries to close the distance and clinch but Bugbee swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Switcher throws a left and a right that both miss

and Bugbee counters by clinching up.
Switcher lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Switcher misses with a punch on the inside.

Bugbee breaks from the clinch.
Switcher is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Switcher dodges the punch combination from Bugbee.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Switcher lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bugbee lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Switcher backs up against the ropes.

Switcher gets tackled into the ropes by Bugbee. Bugbee maintains the clinch.
I was talking to Bugbee's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Switcher creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Bugbee manages to break the clinch.

Bugbee rushes Switcher and presses him up against the ropes.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Bugbee pushes off an throws an elbow but Switcher leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.

As Switcher looks to move away, Bugbee throws a big counter combo but Switcher just gets out of the way.

Switcher tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Bugbee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
We've been informed that Switcher has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Switcher staggers Bugbee with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Bugbee looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bugbee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Switcher, pushing him back against the ropes.
Oh Bugbee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Switcher throws a head punch that misses.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The referee is keeping an eye on Bugbee - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Having scored a knockdown, Dean Switcher should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Oh Bugbee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bugbee lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Switcher has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Switcher and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Bugbee seems to have got his legs back now.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyler Bugbee.
I think Switcher has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
