Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Cobra (ranked 916 p4p, 124 weight class) and Kaz Fujita (ranked 2115 p4p, 256 weight class). Kyle Cobra has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kyle Cobra!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kaz Fujita!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fujita throws a head punch that misses.

Cobra has clasped his hands together around Fujita's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Cobra creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Fujita sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Cobra trying to control the action but Fujita is working from the bottom.
Fujita is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fujita is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cobra off and has taken his back!
Cobra is in bad spot here.
Cobra staying busy and making it hard for Fujita to control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cobra trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Cobra is trying to break free.
Cobra turns into Fujita and is now in his guard.
Cobra postures up.

Fujita pulls Cobra in close to his closed guard and prevents Cobra from doing any damage or advancing position.
Fujita is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Cobra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fujita is keeping the position for now.
Cobra postures up and lands a big shot to Fujita's brow.
Cobra looking to pass the guard.
Fujita controlling the position.
Cobra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fujita works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cobra trying to control but Fujita is working from the bottom.
Fujita has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Cobra throwing strikes from guard but Fujita blocks nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fujita has momentary wrist control but Cobra slips an elbow through the middle.
Cobra won't allow Fujita to get back to his feet.
Cobra throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fujita working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cobra.
Fujita avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Cobra is in close to Fujita's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Cobra slips nicely into half guard.
Cobra is controlling the pace.
Fujita is not content to let Cobra control the position.
Nice strikes from Cobra there.

Cobra not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Cobra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cobra trying to mount his opponent but Fujita defends it.
Fujita wants to improve his position but Cobra is controlling well.
Cobra passes to full mount!
Cobra lands a couple of good shots and Fujita has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Cobra has the hooks in. Fujita is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Cobra connects with a big shot to the side of Fujita's head.

Cobra lands shots from the back.

Cobra working for the choke.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cobra is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Cobra gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Cobra gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Cobra apologises and we restart here on the feet.


Fujita is rocked!

Cobra drives through and clinches with Fujita against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fujita swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Cobra tightens his grip and picks Fujita up, before dumping him to the ground. Fujita manages to land in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cobra's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Fujita is still in real trouble! Can Cobra finish him?
Cobra loads up on a big left hand. Fujita felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Cobra looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Fujita can't hide his disappointment, as Cobra celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kyle Cobra!
Kyle Cobra retains his heavyweight title!
After winning the bout, Kyle Cobra thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
