PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Logan Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sackett comes into the arena with Smack My BitchUp blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sackett shoots and misses
and Reynolds counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Reynolds smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Reynolds lands a really nice looking cross but Sackett seems unphased.
Sackett doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sackett takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Reynolds steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sackett.
Reynolds blocks a jab.
Sackett avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Reynolds fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sackett, pushing him back against the cage.
Sackett stalls.
Sackett blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Reynolds prevents the takedown attempt.

Sackett tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Sackett scores with a shot to the side of Reynolds's head.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sackett creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Sackett wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Reynolds has him pressed against the cage.
Reynolds is trying to break the clinch but Sackett has him pressed against the cage.

Sackett tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Reynolds's elbow.

Reynolds drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sackett is looking to sweep but instead, Reynolds has passed into half guard.
Sackett wants to improve his position but Reynolds is controlling well.
Sackett pushes Reynolds off looking to stand but Reynolds dives back in and keeps control.
Reynolds throwing shots but Sackett is blocking nicely.
Reynolds looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sackett with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Reynolds wants to free his trapped foot but Sackett is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Sackett wants to improve his position but Reynolds is controlling well.
Reynolds has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sackett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Reynolds is working away from the top position though.

Reynolds uses his free foot to push down on Sackett's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sackett.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

It looks like Logan Sackett has been cut.
Sackett takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Reynolds's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
