Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joesph Beasley (ranked 5278 p4p, 0 weight class) and Man Soo Hjung (ranked 7179 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hjung's choice of entrance music: Korean National Anthem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Man Soo Hjung!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hjung rushes Beasley and presses him up against the cage.
Beasley fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hjung makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hjung avoiding damage.
Hjung keeps control of Beasley as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Hjung pulls Beasley into guard.

Hjung is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Beasley stops Hjung from standing up.
Hjung keeping moving, preventing Beasley from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beasley is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hjung is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hjung has escaped and now he's on top!

Hjung tries to free his leg and advance position but Beasley is retaining full guard.

Beasley pushes Hjung off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Hjung drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hjung decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Hjung gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Beasley to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Hjung has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Beasley has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hjung is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Beasley pulls guard effortlessly.
Hjung's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Beasley wants to control but Hjung passes easily into half guard.

Hjung takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hjung thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Beasley's head.
Hjung prevents Beasley from standing back up.

Hjung is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Beasley is defending against the submission attempts here by Hjung.
Hjung looks winded!

Beasley is trying to maintain the position but Hjung is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hjung stops Beasley from getting back to his feet.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hjung in particular looking to stall.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Hjung stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Beasley moves into the clinch successfully.
Beasley tries to circle away but Hjung has him pinned against the cage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hjung breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Beasley misses with a takedown attempt - Hjung sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hjung throws a series of punches but Beasley moves out of range.
Beasley feinted with a counter takedown.
Beasley looks for a takedown but Hjung sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joesph Beasley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Beasley has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hjung.

Hjung closes the distance and pushes Beasley back into the cage.
Hjung tries to throw a body punch but Beasley avoids it by throwing Hjung back against the cage.
Hjung is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hjung ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hjung no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hjung has his feet on Beasley's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Hjung changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Beasley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Beasley sneaks out the side door and pushes Hjung away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Beasley is trying to pull guard but Hjung turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Hjung has Beasley pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hjung pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Beasley tumbling to the mat - Hjung dives into Beasley's guard.

Beasley jumps guard but Hjung stands there with Beasley around his waist. Beasley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Beasley tries to pull guard but Hjung won't allow it.
Man Soo Hjung seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Hjung gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Beasley regains guard.

Beasley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Man Soo Hjung showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hjung rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beasley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Beasley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Beasley is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hjung is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Beasley to the mat. Beasley regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Beasley pushes Hjung away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hjung gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Hjung lands a leg kick that knocks Beasley off balance momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hjung is looking to improve his position.
Hjung is trying to stand up here but Beasley is controlling him well.

Beasley is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Beasley stops Hjung from getting back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hjung kicks Beasley off and gets back to his feet.

Hjung pushes Beasley up against the cage in a clinch.
Beasley is looking to control Hjung's arms but Hjung gets an underhook and turns him. Now Beasley has his back to the cage.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Beasley fails to pull guard.

Hjung breaks the clinch.
Hjung connects with a jab.
Man Soo Hjung seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hjung darts in and clinches Beasley up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Man Soo Hjung comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hjung has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
