Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Laxa Tiv (ranked 1974 p4p, 176 weight class) and Brandon Kay (ranked 1997 p4p, 178 weight class). Brandon Kay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kay gets tackled into the cage by Tiv. Tiv maintains the clinch.
Tiv lands with a light punch inside.
Tiv tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Tiv prevents a takedown attempt there.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kay has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Kay's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Kay has Tiv pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kay pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Tiv tumbling to the mat - Kay dives into Tiv's guard.
Tiv is pulling down on Kay's head. It's preventing any offense from Kay, at least for the moment.

Tiv bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kay's guard.

Kay stands up over Tiv, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tiv swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kay working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Tiv's head.
Kay gets to his feet and stands over Tiv, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Tiv felt that one! Kay unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Tiv from any more punishment!
