PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mick Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Disis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Disis has chosen Polly Jean Harvey - Angry Johnny as his entrance music. Johnny Disis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Dundee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Disis!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dundee loads up on a big right hand but Disis slips the punch.
Dundee stuffs the takedown.
Dundee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Disis moves away.
Disis needs to keep his hands up - Dundee had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Johnny Disis has been cut.
Disis slips a jab from Dundee.
Dundee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dundee scores with a nice strike.
Disis moves in looking to clinch but Dundee pushes him off.

Disis clinches up against the cage.

Dundee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Disis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Disis lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Dundee gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Dundee is looking to improve his position but Disis isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dundee throws a hook but Disis blocks it.

Disis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Disis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dundee as he jumps to the side.

Disis lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Dundee looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Disis puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Disis uses his free foot to push down on Dundee's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dundee.

I would just about give that final round to Johnny Disis.
I think Disis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
