The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santana has a takedown stuffed.
Werthers displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Santana.
Werthers looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Werthers scores with a jab to the head.
Werthers takes a swing at Santana's ribcage but misses.
Santana will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Santana pulls Werthers in close to his closed guard and prevents Werthers from doing any damage or advancing position.

Santana is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Santana is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Santana has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Werthers wants to hold on but Santana pushes him away.
Santana looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santana tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Santana mounts Werthers! Really nice guard pass there!
Werthers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santana. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Santana is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Werthers won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Santana off his unconscious opponent!
