PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brent Wyatt (ranked 3790 p4p, 382 weight class) and Nica Tunika (ranked 3720 p4p, 379 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Brent Wyatt has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Brent Wyatt seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nica Tunika!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tunika shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Wyatt counters with a stiff right hand.
Tunika tests Wyatt's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Tunika tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wyatt manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wyatt scores with a shot to the body.
Tunika scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Wyatt has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Tunika throws a head kick that misses
and Wyatt counters with a two punch combo.
Tunika tries to clinch there but Wyatt circles away.
Wyatt throws a jab when Tunika was well out of range.
Tunika only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Wyatt fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tunika avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tunika has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Wyatt after a bit of a struggle.
Brent Wyatt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nica Tunika.
Wyatt tries to break the clinch but Tunika is controlling the position.

Wyatt digs a good body shot into Tunika's ribs.

Tunika tries to clinch up but Wyatt circles away and keeps his distance.
Wyatt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tunika moves away.
Wyatt moves into range and connects with a jab.

and Wyatt counters with a nice body shot.

and Wyatt counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Wyatt lands a left and a right that send Tunika crashing to the mat, dazed. Wyatt thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Tunika is rocked!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Wyatt lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Tunika head around and knocks him out cold! Wyatt hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
