The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nawai wants to clinch up but Kawamata keeps it at a distance.
Kawamata ducks under a wild hook from Nawai.
Kawamata swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Nawai takes a swing at Kawamata's ribcage but misses.
Kawamata is looking to counter punch.
A left lands for Nawai.
Nawai lands a jab.
Nawai looks to land a left hand but Kawamata moved out of range nicely.
An attempted straight right counter from Kawamata misses the target.
Kawamata moves away from the strike by Nawai.
Nawai has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kawamata is landing a low percentage of strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kawamata misses with a head kick.
Kawamata loads up on a big right hand but Nawai slips the punch.
Nawai throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Nawai takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
It looks like Apolosi Nawai has been cut.
Kawamata cracks Nawai with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Nawai looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Kawamata finish him?
Nawai is rocked!
Nawai tries to clinch up.
It looked like Kawamata wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kawamata connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Nawai out cold! This one is over in a flash!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kento Kawamata!
A relieved looking Kento Kawamata thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
