Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Declan Mochrie (ranked 5959 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grappa Bappa (ranked 5338 p4p, 517 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Declan Mochrie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Grappa Bappa!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mochrie gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Mochrie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No luck for Mochrie with that takedown attempt.
Bappa tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Bappa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mochrie is trying to drag Bappa to the mat but Bappa just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mochrie has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bappa uses from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bappa is still trying to improve position.
Bappa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bappa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mochrie swivels and escapes.
Bappa takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bappa changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Bappa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bappa wants it to stay on the feet.

Mochrie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bappa was covering up waiting for the punch and Mochrie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Mochrie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bappa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bappa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Bappa manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mochrie on his heels. He'll look to pass Mochrie's guard now, I'm sure.

Mochrie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bappa but Bappa pushes him off and we're back to square one.

And Bappa tries to counter it with a takedown but Mochrie pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Bappa has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mochrie avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Mochrie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bappa can do to turn this around?

Mochrie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bappa tries to avoid it but Mochrie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bappa to the ground. Bappa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bappa drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Mochrie defends it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bappa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Bappa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

A close second round but Grappa Bappa will probably get the nod - 10:9.

I think Bappa has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
