Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Decimus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toney Carboni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Decimus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Toney Carboni!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Dave Decimus has been cut.

Decimus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carboni can do anything to dispel that myth.

Carboni bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Decimus's head backwards.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Carboni lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Decimus circles away quickly and effectively.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A telegraphed right hand from Carboni misses the target.
Decimus walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Carboni throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Decimus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Decimus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carboni's waist but Carboni gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Decimus off to one side.

Carboni looks to land a combination but Decimus avoids it well.
Carboni might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Carboni working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Decimus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Decimus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Carboni has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Decimus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Decimus closes the distance and pushes Carboni back into the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Carboni has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Decimus is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Carboni will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Carboni has control of Decimus's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Decimus regains control of the situation pretty easily.

And that's the end of the fight!

I think Carboni has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
