Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Lucas (ranked 3218 p4p, 369 weight class) and Guillermo Pato (ranked 1866 p4p, 233 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Lucas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Guillermo Pato!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas shoots in for a double leg but Pato sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pato lands a nice hook to Lucas's body. Lucas takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Lucas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pato is fending him off so far but Lucas persists. Nope, Pato circles away and we're back to standing.
Lucas fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Pato scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Lucas has his takedown stuffed
and Pato counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Pato scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lucas doesn't seem bothered though.
Lucas is breathing heavily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pato connects with a right hand. Lucas shakes it off.

Pato darts in and clinches Lucas up against the cage.

Pato stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
A right hook to the body lands for Pato.

Pato scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Pato lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Lucas wants to take the fight to the mat but Pato manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Pato is leaning against Lucas and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Pato lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lucas backwards.
Pato lands a hook that snaps the head of Lucas backwards.
Lucas wants a takedown but no success here.
Pato pushes Lucas back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lucas is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pato pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Pato lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Lucas is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pato breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pato drops Lucas with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Lucas looks back up at him and smiles so Pato waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Lucas is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lucas is holding his hands too far apart here. Pato throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Lucas is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

A less than humble Guillermo Pato misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
