Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tree Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rage Against The Machine - Know Your Enemy. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jones.

It looks like Matt Connor has been cut.
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Connor circles away.
Connor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Connor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Connor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connor tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.

Connor is in trouble now - Jones has advanced to mount!

Jones goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Connor is on top in guard.

Connor drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Connor off! Connor jumps back into Jones's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Connor is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jones Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Connor's back instead.
Jones connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Connor to escape the position.
Connor is really stuck here.
Jones tries to get the hooks in deep but Connor pushed the leg off.

Connor is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Jones is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Connor has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Jones is looking for the choke from the back position but Connor is controlling his hands well.

Jones slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Connor has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

That's time! Connor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Connor sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Matt Connor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Connor counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Matt Connor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tree Jones.

Connor is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top!

Jones is nestled in close to Connor, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
