Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin Wolfe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Walter Petrucci!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wolfe shoots in and bounces Petrucci off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Petrucci is wriggling around but Wolfe manages to pass to half guard.

Wolfe content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wolfe wants to pass the guard but Petrucci is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wolfe with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Petrucci wants to control but Wolfe is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Wolfe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Petrucci is positioning himself well to prevent Wolfe advancing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wolfe wants to stand up but Petrucci is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wolfe in particular looking to stall.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Petrucci misses with an uppercut

and Wolfe holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Wolfe gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Wolfe lands with a punch from half guard.
Wolfe prevents Petrucci from improving his position.
Wolfe missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Wolfe controlling the action here.
Wolfe tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Wolfe lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Wolfe keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Petrucci is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wolfe trying to control the pace.
Petrucci wants to get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wolfe is controlling the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Petrucci throws a jab when Wolfe was well out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin Wolfe dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wolfe gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Petrucci.
Petrucci's corner calls for a 1-2. Petrucci obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.


It looks like Martin Wolfe has been cut.

Wolfe shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wolfe was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
A lull in the action here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Who's going to make the next move?
A lull in the action here as Wolfe stalls from top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wolfe tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petrucci prevents Wolfe from moving into mount.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wolfe works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Wolfe wants to stand but Petrucci is controlling his arm.
Wolfe tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Wolfe just content to control the position.
Martin Wolfe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Petrucci gets caught flat footed, as Wolfe shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wolfe showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Wolfe seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Petrucci for as long as he can get away with.
Wolfe's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Wolfe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Petrucci can do to turn this around?

Wolfe working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Petrucci's head.
Wolfe is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Wolfe passes Petrucci's left leg - he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Wolfe dives in for a single leg takedown but Petrucci sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wolfe needs to keep his hands up - Petrucci had a free shot at his head there.
Wolfe shoots in but no luck this time.
Petrucci swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Petrucci swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Wolfe gets the takedown into side control.
Petrucci tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Wolfe controlling from mount.
Petrucci is working to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Petrucci keeps trying to improve his position.
Wolfe controlling the pace for now.
Wolfe continues to stall.
Wolfe pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Wolfe tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Petrucci taking shots to the head.
Wolfe controlling the pace for now.
Wolfe looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Wolfe landing punches.
Petrucci tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Martin Wolfe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Wolfe looking to control and managing it successfully.
Petrucci wants to control but Wolfe is having none of it.
Wolfe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wolfe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
