Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Boyko Kersikov (ranked 1423 p4p, 62 weight class) and Kylar Sensei (ranked 648 p4p, 27 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Boyko Kersikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kylar Sensei!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kersikov lands a jab to the head.
Sensei with a poor takedown

and Kersikov counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Sensei breaks from the clinch.
Sensei lands a jab to the nose.
Sensei with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kersikov to score with a decent uppercut.
Kersikov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kersikov connects with a body shot that sends Sensei's belly button to the back.
Kersikov throws a leg kick but Sensei moved away.

Sensei looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sensei is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kersikov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sensei.

Kersikov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sensei scores with a couple of nice shots.

Sensei is trying to control the action in half guard but Kersikov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kersikov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sensei is keen to just control but Kersikov is a slippery customer.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

My spies in Valhalla MMA inform me that Sensei has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Sensei has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kersikov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kylar Sensei dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kersikov misses the jab.
Sensei shoots in looking for a takedown. Kersikov tries to sprawl out of it but Sensei keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kersikov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A quick step to the side and Kersikov tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sensei connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sensei misses with a body shot.
Kersikov moves out of range of the strikes.
Kersikov avoids the body shot from Sensei.
Sensei ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kersikov moves away.
A quick step to the side and Kersikov tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sensei on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Sensei feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sensei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kersikov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sensei is fighting to break Kersikov's control of his arms but Kersikov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Kylar Sensei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Kersikov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kersikov wants it to stay on the feet.
Sensei scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kersikov doesn't seem bothered though.
Sensei jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kersikov looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Sensei dodges the punch combination from Kersikov.
Sensei misses with an uppercut. Kersikov saw that one coming.
Kersikov tries to clinch but Sensei is having none of it.

Kersikov parries the strikes from Sensei easily there. Sensei is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kersikov to escape.

Sensei is looking to take a break and control but Kersikov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kersikov is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sensei off and has taken his back!

Sensei tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Kersikov cracks Sensei with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kersikov lands a couple of good shots and Sensei has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Kersikov is working the ground and pound. Can Sensei escape?
Sensei tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Sensei is wriggling around trying to escape.

Sensei sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Sensei makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sensei.

Kersikov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kersikov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kylar Sensei is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Sensei wants to sweep here but Kersikov controlling him for the moment.
Sensei wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Sensei has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kersikov should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sensei has tightened it up now! Kersikov should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kylar Sensei!
During a confident post fight interview, Kylar Sensei thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
