Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Winkle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Clark Channell!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Winkle gets tackled into the cage by Channell. Channell maintains the clinch.
Channell lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Tony Winkle has been cut.

Channell breaks the clinch.

Channell gets caught napping as Winkle dives in and scores a takedown. Channell manages to retain guard.
Channell controlling the position.
Winkle controlling from the top position.
Channell is trying to keep Winkle in close.
Winkle sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Channell's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winkle content to control rather than advance.

Winkle wants to work for an arm triangle but Channell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Winkle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Winkle is looking to advance position but Channell won't allow it.
Channell felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Winkle is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Winkle definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Winkle is taking a breather. Channell says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Channell wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Winkle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Channell is just riding it out for now. Winkle eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Winkle lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Winkle wants to free his trapped foot but Channell is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Winkle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Channell is just riding it out for now. Winkle eventually gives up the hold.

Channell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Winkle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Channell is looking to improve his position.

Winkle is trying to control the action in half guard but Channell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Winkle is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Channell is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Winkle has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Channell defend it? Winkle steps over the head and cranks it - Channell is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Winkle!
