Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Cormier (ranked 6760 p4p, 532 weight class) and Thor Lightenhammer (ranked 4667 p4p, 465 weight class). In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lightenhammer working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Cormier drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lightenhammer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cormier has Lightenhammer in his guard.

Cormier working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lightenhammer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lightenhammer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
