Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Rojas (ranked 1836 p4p, 223 weight class) and Toktogulovich Bakiyev (ranked 1221 p4p, 156 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Emilio Rojas has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Emilio Rojas seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Emilio Rojas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toktogulovich Bakiyev!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bakiyev on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Bakiyev feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rojass jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Bakiyev moves out of range as Rojas strikes.
Rojas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rojas is looking to counter punch.
Bakiyev misses with a hook. Rojas ducked under it nicely.
Bakiyev lands with a nice body punch.
Rojas jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
A cross from Bakiyev lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rojas misses with a hook
and Rojas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bakiyev lands with a shot to the body.
Rojas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bakiyev.

and Rojas counters with a slapping leg kick.

and Rojas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bakiyev tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rojas was well out of range. Poor timing from Bakiyev.
Bakiyev throws a big shot that misses.
Bakiyev stuns Rojas with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

letting Rojas counter with a right hand.
Rojas walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

letting Bakiyev counter with a right hand.
Rojas misses with a looping left.
Bakiyev has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Rojas takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Bakiyev punishes Rojas's body with a nice straight punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rojas throws a shot from downtown. Bakiyev moves away and avoids it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bakiyev! But no joy.
Rojas rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bakiyev counters with a nice uppercut.
Bakiyev just misses with a punch to the body.
Rojas swings away with a body shot that misses
and Bakiyev cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bakiyev connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Rojas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bakiyev steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rojas.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rojas throws a looping overhand right but Bakiyev ducks down to avoid it.
Bakiyev doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Toktogulovich Bakiyev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rojas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A left lands for Bakiyev.
Rojas scores with the left hand. Bakiyev knows he should have avoided that one.
Rojas throws a big shot that misses.
Bakiyev appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Rojas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Rojas throws a body shot but no joy.
Bakiyev swings away with a body shot that misses
enabling Rojas to counter with a crisp jab.
Bakiyev swings for the body but Rojas moves out of range.
Rojas is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bakiyev has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rojas finds it's way round the side to connect with Bakiyev's head.
Rojas throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bakiyev.
Rojas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And Rojas counters with a quick kick to the body but Bakiyev blocks it.
Bakiyev misses with a body shot.

and Rojas counters with a huge left! Bakiyev is in big trouble! He's backing up but Rojas isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Bakiyev from any more damage. A dominating finish by Rojas!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Emilio Rojas!
Our winner, Emilio Rojas, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
