Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Armin Schulz (ranked 1566 p4p, 190 weight class) and Shoju Bayushi (ranked 1749 p4p, 210 weight class). Bayushi has chosen Scorpions - Always Somewhere as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Armin Schulz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shoju Bayushi!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bayushi jabs Schulz to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Schulz misses with a body punch
and Bayushi counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Nice defenses there by Bayushi.
Schulz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bayushi moves away.
A countering left hand to the body from Bayushi misses.
Schulz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bayushi slips a jab from Schulz.
Bayushi avoids the body shot from Schulz.
Schulz works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Schulz throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Bayushi is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Schulz ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Schulz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bayushi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Schulz scrambles back to his feet.

Bayushi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Schulz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bayushi gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Bayushi lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Schulz backwards.

Bayushi misses with a hook. Schulz ducked under it nicely.
Schulz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bayushi tries to avoid it but Schulz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bayushi to the ground. Bayushi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bayushi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Schulz on the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Schulz throws a nice looking combination but Bayushi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

It seemed like Bayushi was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Schulz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bayushi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A quick step to the side and Schulz tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Schulz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bayushi circles away quickly and effectively.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bayushi can do anything to dispel that myth.

Schulz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bayushi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bayushi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bayushi!

Bayushi wants to take a breather but Schulz manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Bayushi.
Schulz has his hands on Bayushi's head, controlling the position.

Bayushi is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Bayushi shuts the power down on Schulz. Lights out, game over! Bayushi is your winner.

Shoju Bayushi decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
