Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Keyser Soze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bj Santos Jr!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soze throws a nice outside leg kick.
Santos Jr shoots and misses
enabling Soze to counter with a crisp jab.
Soze dives in and scores a takedown into Santos Jr's guard.
Santos Jr is trying to keep Soze in close.
Santos Jr is working an open guard so Soze takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Soze has closed the distance and engaged Santos Jr in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Soze creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A right hook to the body lands for Soze.
Soze breaks from the clinch.
Santos Jr tries for a takedown but Soze sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Soze half committed to a counter leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Soze lands a right hook to the body.
Soze thuds his right hand into Santos Jr's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Soze! Santos Jr is out on his feet! Soze rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Santos Jr is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Santos Jr is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Keyser Soze!
A less than humble Keyser Soze misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
