PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexi Laiho (ranked 927 p4p, 126 weight class) and Callum Pagnozzi (ranked 1369 p4p, 184 weight class). Laiho's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cold Sweat/ Thin Lizzy. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pagnozzi lands a nice looking body shot.

Pagnozzi tries a quick counter leg kick but Laiho is wise to it.

Laiho closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pagnozzi manages to work his way to half guard, despite Laiho's best efforts.

We've been hearing good reports from Laiho's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pagnozzi in particular looking to stall.

That was a close round but I would say that Alexi Laiho will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Laiho looks to land a combination but Pagnozzi avoids it well.

Callum Pagnozzi bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
