Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magomedrasul Hasbullaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Morris Day!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hasbullaev scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Day gets back to half guard.
Day keeping hold of Hasbullaev's head, controlling as best he can.
Hasbullaev prevents Day from standing back up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Day manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hasbullaev stands up out of Day's guard for a moment - Day manages to land a nice upkick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hasbullaev throws a big elbow that misses.
Day throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Day pulls Hasbullaev in close to prevent any damage.

Day has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hasbullaev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Day pulls Hasbullaev in to control the position.
Hasbullaev tries to stand but Day is controlling from the bottom.
Hasbullaev trying to control the position from guard on top but Day is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Day looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hasbullaev is one step ahead there.
Hasbullaev wants to control from the top but Day keeps moving.
Hasbullaev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hasbullaev is looking to work some ground and pound but Day has wrist control.
Day pulls Hasbullaev in close to his closed guard and prevents Hasbullaev from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hasbullaev trying to control but Day is working from the bottom.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hasbullaev or perhaps it was just good defense by Day, which made it look bad.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Day gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Day is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hasbullaev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Day tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Day controls the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hasbullaev tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Day easily slips into full mount!
Day wants to stand but Hasbullaev is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Day cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Day sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Hasbullaev swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Day manages to capitalize on a mistake by Hasbullaev to take his back!
Day keeps control of the position easily here as Hasbullaev tries to buck him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Morris Day dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hasbullaev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Day sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hasbullaev somewhat.
Hasbullaev fails in his attempt to clinch.
Day keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The fight stays on the outside here - Day looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hasbullaev drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Day trying to keep a closed guard but Hasbullaev is proving a slippery customer.
Hasbullaev prevents Day from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Day has Hasbullaev pulled in close to control his posture.
Day has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hasbullaev is posturing up here but Day has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Hasbullaev tries to roll out but it's too tight and Hasbullaev has to tap! Slick submission there by Day!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Morris Day!
Morris Day decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
