Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Avery (ranked 24543 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bart Turner (ranked 5189 p4p, 0 weight class). Dick Avery has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dick Avery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bart Turner!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner delivers a nice body kick.
Turner scores with a body shot.

Turner gets a takedown into half guard.
Avery really is a fat lump.
Avery is trying to stand up here but Turner is controlling him well.
Turner trying to mount his opponent but Avery defends it.
Avery might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Avery tries to get to full guard but Turner has control of the leg.
Turner wants to stand up but Avery has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turner is keen to just control but Avery is a slippery customer.
Avery tries to roll over but Turner keeps him under control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Turner drives through with a takedown into guard.
Avery is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turner is looking to improve his position.
Turner gets full guard.

Avery drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Turner manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Avery has Turner in his guard.

Turner wants to stand and escape but instead Avery has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Avery wants to control from the top but Turner keeps moving.

Turner keeping moving, preventing Avery from controlling successfully.
Avery postures up and lands a big shot to Turner's brow.
Avery slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Turner is looking to sweep but instead, Avery has passed into half guard.
Turner manages to get to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Avery looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Turner shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Avery manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Turner throws a big right hand that misses.
Turner passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Avery is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Avery gets full guard.

Turner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Avery. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Turner looking to sit in guard and control but Avery gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Turner wants to stand and escape but instead Avery has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Turner has his hands on Avery's head, controlling the position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Turner wants to hit a switch here but Avery passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Turner there!

Avery looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Turner tries to hold on but Avery postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dick Avery will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Turner lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Avery swings for the body but Turner moves out of range.
Turner tries to counter with a clinch but Avery shakes him off and moves away.

Avery avoids a series of strikes thrown by Turner.
Avery sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Avery is pressing down on Turner's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Turner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Avery manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Turner manages to get himself to full guard.

Turner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Avery is controlling him.

Avery passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Avery is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Avery is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Turner sees it coming and defends easily.
Avery working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Turner is looking for a sweep. Avery is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Turner gets back to full guard.
Turner is trying to hold Avery in close to prevent damage but Avery has managed to pass into half guard.

Avery is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
