Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hank Hill (ranked 4198 p4p, 403 weight class) and Lei Makana (ranked 2597 p4p, 288 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hank Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lei Makana!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill lands a jab-cross combination.
Hill throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sloppy strikes from Hill. Those never looked like landing.
Hill throws a big shot that misses.
It seemed like Makana was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Makana slips a jab from Hill.
Makana moves forwards but Hill connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Hill misses with an uppercut.
Makana shoots in looking for a takedown. Hill tries to sprawl out of it but Makana keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hill manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Hill is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Makana is controlling him.

Hill has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Makana is standing up over Hill. Hill looks to escape but Makana dives into side control.

Hill is pushing Makana's head away, looking to escape. Makana manages to hold on to the position though.

Makana goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hill has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Makana but great work by Hill.

Makana is working an open guard so Hill takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Makana shoots in and drives through. Hill sprawls well.
Makana dives in and grabs Hill's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hill pushes down on Makana's head and hops out.
Hank Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lei Makana.
Makana shoots in for a takedown but Hill shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hank Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Makana takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Makana shoots for a takedown but Hill saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hill throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hill. Makana does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hill lands a two punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Makana.
A quick step to the side and Hill tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Makana uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hill.

Makana fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hill sprawls well initially but Makana persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hill is trying to stand up here but Makana is controlling him well.
Makana is looking to take a break and control but Hill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Makana is trying to work for a kimura but Hill is defending well.
Hill keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Makana connects with a nice short shot to Hill's temple.
Hill has hold of Makana's hands but Makana slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hill pushes Makana off looking to stand but Makana dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hank Hill dominated that round.

Hill throws a shot from downtown. Makana moves away and avoids it.
Makana slips a straight right by Hill.
Hill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Makana can do to turn this around?
Makana bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Makana is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Makana steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hill.
Hill is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Makana.
Hill lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Makana fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hill avoids it really well and circles away.
Makana shoots in looking for a takedown but Hill manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Makana's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

After winning the bout, Lei Makana thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
