Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brandon Vera!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shmoe shoots for a double leg takedown but Vera sprawls well. He's pushed Shmoe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shmoe shoots for a takedown but Vera saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Shmoe. No joy for Vera on that attempt.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Shmoe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Vera is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Shmoe wants to stand and escape but Vera is having none of it.

Vera drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vera jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Shmoe wants to sweep here but Vera controlling him for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Vera shoots in for a double leg but Shmoe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Vera counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Vera is pressing down on Shmoe's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shmoe is holding on for now.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Vera has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Shmoe defend it? Vera steps over the head and cranks it - Shmoe is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Vera!
