Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jowell Randy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robert Ray has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jowell Randy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jowell Randy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Ray!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ray scoring well with a low kick there.

Ray changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Randy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ray scoring with punches and elbows.
Ray throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Randy is trying to control Ray's posture but Ray avoids it.
Randy is looking to regain half guard here but Ray keeps moving and retains side control.
Randy is not content to let Ray control the position.

Randy parries the strikes from Ray easily there. Ray is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Randy to escape.
Ray throwing strikes but Randy manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Ray counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ray is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Randy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Randy has escaped and now he's on top!

Ray pushes Randy off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Ray counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Randy is lucky that one didn't land flush.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ray moves into full mount! Randy won't be happy about that!

Ray postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Randy looks a forlorn figure.
The referee warns Randy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Randy tries to lock up and control but Ray gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ray throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Ray has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Randy's face.
Ray cracks Randy with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Ray is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Randy can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Ray avoids the attempt from Randy to control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Randy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Robert Ray has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ray stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Ray has Randy up against the cage in a clinch.

Randy is trying to drag Ray to the mat but Ray just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Ray gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Ray not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Randy is trying to stand back up but Ray is controlling him
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ray connects with a nice short shot to Randy's temple.

Randy is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Ray pulls his head out easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ray prevents Randy from standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Ray showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Randy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ray doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ray manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ray drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Randy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ray has Randy in his guard.

Ray is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ray decides to return to a standing position.

and Ray counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ray.

Ray throws a strike but Randy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Randy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ray is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Randy, into his guard.
Ray has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ray wants to control from the top but Randy keeps moving.
Ray is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Randy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ray accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Robert Ray is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Ray has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
