PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bkekimpilo Sotobe (ranked 3850 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anaconda Chocker (ranked 5268 p4p, 481 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bkekimpilo Sotobe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anaconda Chocker!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sotobe tries to keep at a distance but Chocker has taken the fight into the clinch.
Chocker is trying to drag Sotobe to the mat but Sotobe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Chocker changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sotobe fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Nice defenses there by Chocker.
Sotobe getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Chocker ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sotobe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Chocker stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Bkekimpilo Sotobe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anaconda Chocker.
Sotobe throws a big shot that misses.
Chocker steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sotobe.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sotobe connects with an inside leg kick.
Chocker with a lazy takedown attempt
and Sotobe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sotobe throws a hook but Chocker avoids it easily.
And Chocker tries to counter it with a takedown but Sotobe pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Sotobe connects with a solid leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sotobe bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

and Sotobe counters with a straight right hand.
Sotobe lands a really nice looking cross but Chocker seems unphased.
No luck for Chocker with that takedown attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Sotobe on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Chocker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sotobe pinned against the cage. Sotobe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice body punch from Sotobe.
Chocker looks winded!
Sotobe lands with an overhand left.
Sotobe connects with the punch.
Chocker takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sotobe sizes up Chocker with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chocker takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Sotobe scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Chocker is still on wobbly legs! Can Sotobe finish him?
Sotobe is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Sotobe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Chocker tries for a takedown but Sotobe circles away easily
and Sotobe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A jab lands there for Sotobe.
Chocker seems to have recovered his senses.

Nice straight punches there by Sotobe. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sotobe.

Sotobe drops Chocker with a straight right hand, right on the button! Sotobe follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
