PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Milo Leonard (ranked 25024 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jony Harry (ranked 3304 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jony Harry was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harry scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Leonard is not content to let Harry control the position.

Leonard has hold of Harry's hands but Harry slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harry is stalling here. Leonard is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Harry seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Leonard has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Leonard is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Leonard is looking for a kimura but Harry is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Leonard to get the leverage.

Leonard winds up and cracks Harry with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harry has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Leonard is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Harry sees it coming and defends easily.
Harry is concentrating on defense, preventing Leonard from advancing position.

Harry makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Harry takes the fight into the clinch.
Leonard tries to land a knee to the head but Harry blocks with his arms.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Harry drags the fight down to the ground.
Harry has control of Leonard's left arm, preventing Leonard from doing any damage.

Leonard gets to his feet. Harry looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Leonard darts in and clinches Harry up against the cage.
Leonard is trying to break the clinch but Harry is controlling him.

Harry pulls guard.
Leonard lands a couple of elbows.
Harry should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Harry has his foot on Leonard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Leonard works his way back into a safe position though.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Harry has eaten all the pies!

Harry wants to get back to his feet but Leonard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Harry wants to control the position but Leonard says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Leonard is trying to work for a kimura but Harry is defending well.

Leonard has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Harry defend it? Leonard steps over the head and cranks it - Harry is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Leonard!
