Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryland Rasmussen (ranked 5546 p4p, 466 weight class) and Scruffy Bushrod (ranked 5616 p4p, 471 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasmussen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bushrod is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Rasmussen throws a body shot but no joy.
Rasmussen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rasmussen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bushrod.
Bushrod misses with a left hand
and Rasmussen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bushrod won't be happy with that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rasmussen has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bushrod fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rasmussen.

Rasmussen drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bushrod sprawls and moves away.
Rasmussen throws a leg kick but Bushrod sees it coming and moves out of range.

Rasmussen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bushrod pinned against the cage. Bushrod gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Bushrod is trying to escape back to his feet but Rasmussen uses the scramble to pass into side control.
You can see the frustration on Bushrod's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rasmussen shoots for a takedown but Bushrod saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rasmussen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bushrod really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rasmussen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rasmussen stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Scruffy Bushrod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rasmussen looks to score with a jab to the body but Bushrod is just out of range.
Bushrod thumps Rasmussen with a low kick.
Bushrod throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Scruffy Bushrod is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bushrod has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Rasmussen has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Rasmussen is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bushrod to keep the fight standing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bushrod breaks from the clinch.
Rasmussen goes for a double leg but Bushrod avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bushrod continues to drive forward.
Rasmussen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bushrod's waist but Bushrod gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rasmussen off to one side.

Bushrod throws a leg kick which misses Rasmussen's front leg but catches the back leg as Rasmussen tries to avoid it.
Bushrod feints and then cracks Rasmussen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rasmussen down.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bushrod can do anything to dispel that myth.
A lull in the action here as Rasmussen stalls from top position.

Scruffy Bushrod comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bushrod winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
