Van Der Merwe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. ODell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Van Der Merwe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in ODell's guard.

Van Der Merwe is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Van Der Merwe stands up over ODell, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

ODell has hold of Van Der Merwe's hands but Van Der Merwe slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

ODell is rocked!

Van Der Merwe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks ODell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Oh ODell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Van Der Merwe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
ODell seems to have got his legs back now.
Van Der Merwe is nestled in close to ODell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Van Der Merwe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
