Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Gvozdev (ranked 2959 p4p, 304 weight class) and Carlton Banks (ranked 3152 p4p, 318 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that George Gvozdev has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily George Gvozdev seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlton Banks!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gvozdev misses with a looping right.
Banks lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Gvozdev throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Banks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like George Gvozdev has been cut.
Banks throws a right and a left that Gvozdev avoids nicely.
Banks lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gvozdev circles away quickly and effectively.
Banks moves out of range as Gvozdev strikes.
Banks looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Banks misses with a jab to the body
and Gvozdev counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Banks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gvozdev.
It seemed like Banks was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Banks throws a right hand that Gvozdev ducks under and follows up with a left that Gvozdev also avoids with ease.

Gvozdev cracks Banks with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Gvozdev has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Banks to stand back up!

Gvozdev paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

and Banks counters with a nice right hand that sends Gvozdev toppling to the canvas! Gvozdev scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Banks finish him?!

Banks lands a brutal uppercut that launches Gvozdev off his feet! Gvozdev tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
