The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meadows misses with a jab, cross combination.
Meadows keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Samate has a takedown stuffed.
Takeshi Samate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Samate slips a jab and a cross from Meadows.
Samate tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Meadows swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takeshi Samate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Samate shoots for a double leg takedown but Meadows sprawls well. He's pushed Samate's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Meadows lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Samate misses with a takedown attempt - Meadows sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Samate shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Meadows pinned against the cage. Meadows gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Samate throws a head kick that misses.
Samate looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Meadows is fending him off so far but Samate persists. Nope, Meadows circles away and we're back to standing.
Meadows misses with the combination.
Meadows stuffs the takedown attempt from Samate. Samate gets slowly back to his feet.
Samate is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Meadows.
Samate is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Meadows throws a right and a left that Samate avoids nicely.
Samate shoots in and drives through. Meadows sprawls well.
Meadows digs a good hook to Samate's body.
Meadows throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Samate stumbling backwards into the cage! Samate bounces back off the cage towards Meadows, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Meadows lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Meadows celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jeremy Meadows!
