PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Lee!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Griffin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Griffin gets the takedown into side control.
Griffin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lee tries to improve position but can't.
Lee looks gassed!
Griffin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Griffin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lee, who protects the arm well.
Griffin has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Lee is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Griffin yanks on the arm and Lee is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Griffin.
