PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lennie Barker (ranked 5278 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sadin Fight (ranked 4047 p4p, 427 weight class). Fight comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hold on I'm coming kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lennie Barker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sadin Fight!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fight tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Barker defends well and Fight ends up having to push Barker into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Fight shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fight was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Barker throws Fight to one side and escapes!
Fight uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barker.

Barker has managed to clinch.
Barker avoids the elbow strike from Fight, against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fight jumps guard and drags Barker to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Barker wants to control from the top but Fight keeps moving.
Fight looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barker is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fight's guard.
Barker is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Fight wants to control but Barker is keeping busy.

Barker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fight tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Barker has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Barker throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Barker sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barker is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fight can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Barker unloads with some shots from mount but Fight bucks and avoids them well.

Barker wants to control the pace but Fight is squirming around nicely.
Barker avoids the attempt from Fight to control.
Fight is looking to improve his position but Barker isn't that keen on the idea.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fight wants to control the action here but instead Barker manages to pass to full mount!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Barker walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Fight checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Fight closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Barker's guard.

Barker is trying to control the position but Fight postures up.
Barker is really struggling to control Fight but he's trying to hold on to the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fight can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Fight with a nice head shot there.

Barker throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Fight closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Barker wants to control but Fight postures up.
Lennie Barker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fight taking a breather here.
Fight laying and praying for a moment but Barker takes advantage and regains half guard.
Barker has his hands clasped together around Fight's back. He's all about the action.

Fight prevents Barker from standing back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Sadin Fight showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Barker gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Barker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Barker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fight doesn't manage to clinch there - Barker circles away.
Fight looks to throw a body kick

and Barker counters with a takedown into side control.

Fight throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

and Barker moves into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fight has had enough of the clinch but Barker keeps him there for the moment.

Barker pulls guard effortlessly.
Fight preventing the sweep.
Fight is working Barker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Fight sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Fight won't allow Barker to get back to his feet.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fight's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Barker will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Barker wants to control but Fight is keeping busy.
Fight tries to pass the half guard into mount. Barker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Fight seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fight winds up and cracks Barker with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Barker tries to get to full guard but Fight has control of the leg.
Fight blocks the strikes from Barker.
Fight wants to take a breather but Barker is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Barker throws a right and a left that both miss.

Fight closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Barker's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fight stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barker swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Barker has his foot on Fight's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fight works his way back into a safe position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Sadin Fight.
I think Fight has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Sadin Fight decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
