The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro throws a shot from downtown. Buchanan moves away and avoids it.
Ribeiro swings for the body but Buchanan moves out of range.
Ribeiro has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Yaw-Yan Ardigma in the buildup to the fight.
Buchanan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ribeiro fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Buchanan manages to avoid it.
Buchanan throws a jab but it's blocked by Ribeiro.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ribeiro. Buchanan does a little dance to reset his feet.

Buchanan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ribeiro was covering up waiting for the punch and Buchanan finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Ribeiro is trying to keep Buchanan in close.
Ribeiro wants to sweep here but Buchanan controlling him for the moment.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Buchanan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Buchanan has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Yaw-Yan Ardigma. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Ribeiro is looking to cinch up a triangle. Buchanan throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Ribeiro's body to avoid the submission. Ribeiro has instead reached around Buchanan's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ribeiro arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
