The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Peppertooth tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Joe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Joe shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Joe showed some decent athleticism there.
Peppertooth trying to hold on to Joe's head to control him but Joe postures up.
Peppertooth tries to kick Joe off but Joe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Peppertooth avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Joe.
Peppertooth moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Joe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Peppertooth had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Joe is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Peppertooth Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Joe's back instead.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Joe wants to get back to his feet.
Peppertooth scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

Peppertooth is looking for the choke from the back position but Joe is controlling his hands well.

Peppertooth is trying to stick to Joe's back but Joe is turning into Peppertooth. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Peppertooth's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Joe.

Peppertooth tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Peppertooth trying to keep a closed guard but Joe is proving a slippery customer.
Joe slips nicely into half guard.
Peppertooth is refusing to be controlled, as Joe sits in half guard.
Joe seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Peppertooth is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
