The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stephens tries to keep at a distance but Gill has taken the fight into the clinch.

Gill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stephens throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Stephens scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Gill ducks under a wild hook from Stephens.
Gill feints the counter takedown.
Gill shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Stephens gets tackled into the ropes by Gill. Gill maintains the clinch.
Stephens tries for a takedown but Gill manages to get underhooks.
Stephens has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gill is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Gill gets underhooks to prevent Stephens's takedown attempt.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gill is on top in guard.

Gill seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stephens does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Stephens knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gill on the ground.
Stephens pushes Gill off looking to stand but Gill dives back in and keeps control.

Gill maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Stephens could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Gill has cracked it and Stephens is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Gill!
