Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between River Walken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, River Walken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mateus Gracie!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Walken.
Walken fails with an attempt to clinch.
Walken throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gracie's waist but Gracie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walken off to one side.
Walken wants to clinch.
A combination from Gracie does no damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walken gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gracie is looking to work some ground and pound but Walken has wrist control.
Walken is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walken kicks Gracie off and gets to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gracie.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Walken is looking for a sweep.

Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Walken is defending well.

Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Walken parries the strikes from Gracie easily there. Gracie is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Walken to escape.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Walken, who protects the arm well.
Walken knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Walken is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Walken is looking to reverse the position.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Walken tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Walken is working hard here to advance position.

Gracie tries for a kimura but Walken is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walken struggling a bit here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Walken will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Walken trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Walken tries to stand but Gracie is controlling from the bottom.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gracie preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Walken decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Walken looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Gracie is looking to score with low kicks.
Walken gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for River Walken. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Walken looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mateus Gracie dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.
Walken pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt - Walken sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Walken throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Walken with a poor takedown

and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Walken didn't expect that.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Walken is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walken wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie trying to control but Walken is working from the bottom.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Walken is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walken manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Walken's guard.
Gracie prevents Walken from getting back to his feet.

Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Walken slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard.

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Walken pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gracie slips nicely into half guard.
Walken flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Mateus Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gracie is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Walken!

Gracie is going olschool here, as he tries to force Walken to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Walken shrugs it off.
Gracie throws some wild stikes that Walken manages to avoid easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walken is in all sorts of trouble here.
Gracie unloads with some shots from mount but Walken bucks and avoids them well.
Walken tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Gracie moves to take his opponent's back.

You can see the frustration on Walken's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Gracie has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Walken is defending well but eventually Gracie manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Walken has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mateus Gracie!
